What is a policy?

The word "policy" has two completely different meanings. Let us consider in more detail what a policy is.

Translated from the Greek polis means "city", "state". So in ancient Greece called the form of the socio-political organization of society. Polis is a city-state together with its surroundings, in which each full member had his own land plot and enjoyed all the privileges along with the rest. In addition to full-fledged citizens, there were people in the policies who did not have land and no rights - slaves, freedmen, and so on.

The second meaning of the word "policy" is a document that confirms the fact of entering into an insurance contract and is issued by the insurer to the insured person. Usually the policy is issued after the insured makes a cash contribution to the insurance company. The policy contains an indication of the object of insurance, the amount of the insured amount, a detailed explanation of the insurance risks, the size and terms of making insurance premiums.

The main types of policies - life insurance, health, cargo, property, etc.There are model policies approved by the government, the most famous of which is the policy of compulsory medical insurance.
