How to tie a warm and cozy card "Lalo"
Lalo cardigans are at the peak of their popularity. There are several knitting options for this stylish and fashionable product:
1. The effect of "Shar Pei", folding, which is created due to the large number of volumetric braids.
2. "Chinchilla" or "Asian cone" - a novelty of the current season.
We invite everyone to connect the second version of this wonderful cardigan - CHINCHILLA.
You will need:
thick bulky yarn 1.5-2 kg. (options: Lanagold 800 in 4 threads, Lanagold fayn, Angora Real, Angora Gold, Angora Ram, etc.), needles No. 5.5 or 6 (better circular, but you can also direct)
Scheme. Canvas knit pattern "Asian cone".
Dial the number of loops in the length of the finished height of the canvas.
The number of loops must be a multiple of 6, including edge loops.
1st row: 6 persons., Turn the work, the rest of the loop does not knit.
2nd row: 6 str.
continue to knit only on these six loops with the front satin finish of just 10 rows.
11th row: 6 faces., Knit the next 3 loops from the dial edge, turn.
12th row: 6 known, turn, do not knit others.
Continue to knit the front satin stitch on these six loops also 10 rows.
Further, it is necessary to shift again and again by 3 loops until the end of the row.
Tie 2 rows of the front surface on all the loops.
Turn the work on the wrong side.
Repeat everything from the first row, but from the wrong side and in the other direction.
Our spikelet will consist of two "seeds": the first looks down, the second goes up. To knit between the grains in 4 rows on the front surface!
For small sizes I recommend the spikelet 6/12 (6 loops for 12 rows), for medium sizes: 8/14, for large ones - 8/16.
Attention: For 8/14 (16) spikelets a set of loops is a multiple of 4, we pick up not 3 each (as in the video), but 4 loops each. The first loop is removed as edge.
Knitting goes vertically: from the collar through the carcass to the second collar.
In total, you will need to tie 9 full spikelets for the carcass, which can be knitted both with a whole cloth and with separate parts (after stitching, they will not allow the product to be pulled too far down). The choice is yours! Also on 2 spikelets for sleeves. Description
Knit the sample and calculate the number of loops for the set.
Average data: collar - 27 spikelets -112 loops (mine - 28 - 122 loops)
shelf / back - 24 spikelets - 100 loops (my 25 - 104 loops)
armhole - 17 spikelets - 72 loops (mine - 18 - 76 loops)
sleeve - outer - 20 spikelets - 84 loops, inner - 14 spikelets - 60 loops.
The collar at the end is sewn in half. You can knit it separately from the carcass, then sew it, folded in half.
For such a cardigan, the following set of loops is proposed: half of the loops are typed in the lower color, the second half - in the upper one. I made my life easier and tied the first rows with a thread of one color, because the collar will be sewn and the set will not be visible.
It looks good gradient of two shades of one color, then you can knit half (or a little less / more) spikelets in one color, and the rest - the other, without mixing the thread with each other.
The easiest way to knit a gradient is to do broaching on the wrong side.
Broaches are made very carefully, you can immediately see how well the gradient looks, connected by each color separately.
I knit without broaches as follows: when we finished the 14 rows of the spikelet (8/14) and the last time we pass these 8 loops ... then I knit only 4 loops from them, then the thread, which I will not use anymore (it is yellow) - I put it off !! and knit the remaining 4 loops with only 2 threads (I knit in 3 pieces).
Then I pick up 4 more loops for the new spike, while picking up the thread from the previous row (which was then also postponed). In work again 3 threads, at this transition is made.
When all the spikelets are connected, you can tie the "serrated" center of the spicate and shoulder lines with the facial surface.
Then it remains to sew the side and shoulder seams, sew the sleeve and the cardigan is ready!
Attention according to the model it is not always possible to correctly determine the number of loops (since under its own, not small weight, the canvas stretches down and it is difficult to calculate this stretching). It happened to me. Then I separately tied the missing spikelets and gently tucked it up to the already existing ones, since this is a collar and it will fold in half, then the stitching place will not be noticeable!
bobbin yarn in 9 additions (1600/100), knitting needles 6.
Begins knitting the spike from above, so we knit with the upper color (who has a gradient)
Having reached the end - we knit 4 rows of the front surface, then knitting goes from the bottom up (on the wrong side)!
General view of half of the product
This is how it looks in the process: the armhole is already visible.
When the carcass was finished and tried on, it turned out that it stretched out a lot: from 62 cm.at 90 cm! Consequently, the volume of the braid is lost, so it is necessary to tighten the spikelets with an additional thread.
Carcass weight was 700 grams.
This is how it looks in the product.
Spikelets pulled - walked with a needle down (to the middle of the product only) and back up so that it was not very noticeable. On the inside out nothing is visible, outside you can see the threads.
She sewed the shoulder seams, the middle of the collar, and sewed the collar to the back.
Then turned up the collar and sewed a needle for the middle spikelet !!! - I liked it better than stitching it in half.
Then she gathered loops for sleeves. Attention: many girls had sleeves (for all calculations and finished carcasses) 1 spikelet shorter than we would like, so consider this effect.
I tied one sleeve, but it seemed to me very narrow, I had to knit 8/16. Tying up was not enough and I decided to make a waistcoat, especially as I understood that my yarn is not for this cardigan.
Author MK did not knit sleeves, but it does not stop us! Gathering information about knitting sleeves came to the conclusion that they knit as follows:
Crochet the armhole with crochet columns. In the future, it will need to beautifully sew the sleeve cardigan.
Sleeve knit from 2 full-bodied spikelets (4 rows of grains).
We start knitting with a row of 14 grains, then a full spikelet for 20 grains (the upper part of the sleeve). Then again a row of 14 grains.
Upon completion, the sleeve is also tied with a number of single crochet columns and sewed to a cardigan.
