How To Conceal Dark Circles Under Eyes | Alexandra Anele
Do This to Disguise Dark Circles
Here's what's frustrating about dark circles: The less rest you get, the worse they look — so you spread more concealer under your eyes, but then it becomes obvious. Or, in the case of our sleep-deprived model, Angela, a full-time working mom to a 1-year-old, you give up and skip concealer entirely. What's the happy medium? For starters, you need a creamy formula. Then, dab it only where there are shadows, not all over. I showed Angela how it's done, and just look at how bright-eyed she is now.
Choose a concealer color that's slightly warm and just one shade lighter than your skin. Apply it with a small brush in the shape shown here; this will reflect light up so your eyes look open and awake.
The skin around your eyes is delicate, so don't rub it! Instead, blend concealer by pressing it in with your ring finger — it's the weakest one, so it has the softest, gentlest touch.
Skin tends to look darker at the outer corners of your eyes, which drags them down and can make you appear tired. To give your eyes a lift, tap a bit of the cover-up at the outer corners with your ring finger.
It's key to helping your concealer stay put and not settle into lines. Very gently, pull down your under-eye skin a little so it's taut, then brush on a face powder that matches your skin color.
