I mentioned in my last blog that I really missed my bathtub while I was on vacation. I love to lay in the bathtub with my bath oils soaking into my skin while I read my books. A hot bath seems to cure almost any kind of ailment. If my joints hurt, I take a hot bath. The hot water soothes my aching joints and makes the pain a lot less. When my insides are cramping, I take a hot bath. The hot water envelopes my angry abdomen like a huge heating pad and eases the pain and sometimes calms my intestines. When I am in a lot of pain and Tylenol (acetaminophen) is not working, the only relief that I can find is from my hot bath. I try to stay away from pain killers as much as possible. A warm bath is also great when you have a sinus infection. Just throw in some eucalyptus and menthol bath oil or drops, and it opens the sinus cavities right up. And if it doesn't take away all of my ailments, it at least improves my mood and makes me smell nice.

Sometimes while I am in the bath, I try to think of myself in remission and visualize myself and my cells healing. It is hard to keep this train of thought up for a long time (because it takes a lot of focus) but I think that visualizing yourself healing must help your body to heal. I think that there is a lot more power in our brains than we know about. I don't necessarily believe that I can cure myself using this method, but it can't hurt and maybe it will help me get off the prednisone. That seems to be my main goal in life is getting off prednisone.

The Dutch do not believe in giving medicine unnecessarily. One time, I took my daughter to the doctor with a sinus/ear infection, and he prescribed two hot baths per day for seven days. I couldn't believe that was his prescription, but it worked. She cleared up within 7 days and did not have to take any medicines. Now when she gets sick, I make sure to give her two hot baths per day. Most of the time, she gets better on her own, and I feel like her immune system is stronger since her body is fighting the illnesses naturally.

Gotta go take my hot bath,

Kelly
